Dragons, the Ankh, and the Building of Pyramids

In the context of the earth's past, what about what we call dragons in Steiner's cosmology..?
To come closer to these aspects we will go "all out" and take mythic creatures and lore quite seriously (there is no smoke without fire).
Also, the many mysteries surrounding the building of say the pyramids aren't really explainable through today's notions. We will therefore have to expand our very notions, and eventually reintegrate what might have seem all too fantastic to be real, and see if indeed rather than nonsense, this actually makes sense.

So we could take as a starting point that giants indeed existed, and that in past conditions stones could be transported—gravity and the contraction of matter being different, etc—potentially through the air (which was itself more etheric) by using perhaps such instruments like the ankh or others. Maybe even a cristal was used as well, and perhaps vibrational speaking, by using the formative power in syllables, consonants and vowels..

These are indeed all fantastic lines of connection to be explored, so as to examine where eventually they intersect, and start hinting at a different story, than the one commonly narrated about world's evolution.
By looking at ancient mythology and megalithic mysteries through the specific lens of Rudolf Steiner’s anthroposophical cosmology, we will see that remains of past conditions is still present in lore, and aligns deeply with the earth's past.

1. The Reality of Dragons: "Fire-Spitting Lindworms"

"There is indeed no smoke without fire." Steiner explicitly stated that ancient myths are not fabrications; they are accurate, clairvoyant memories of past evolutionary states. [1]

Regarding the primitive flying creatures that swallowed hot cosmic rocks, Steiner directly linked them to dragon lore. He explained that during the Lemurian period, human-animal ancestors had a completely different form. When they rose out of the soft, boiling earth, they possessed a head formation that was open to the front, out of which "a fiery cloud gushed forth".
Steiner explicitly noted: "This gave rise to the tale of the lindworm, the dragon." What we call dragons were the very real, physical-etheric expressions of life when the earth's atmosphere was still fiery, thick, and full of unsolidified mineral forces. [1, 2]

2. Giants and the Construction of the Pyramids

The topic of giants, anti-gravity (namely etheric levity), and the pyramids finds a fitting place into the Anthroposophical timeline: [1]

• The Existence of Giants: Steiner taught that in the preceding Atlantean epoch, human bodies had not yet hardened into our current rigid, dense skeletons. Because gravity was different and matter was highly malleable, human forms were much larger—they were giants. As the earth's matter contracted and hardened (especially after the Moon separated), human size shrank to its current scale. [1, 2, 3]
• The Physics of the Pyramids: Conventional mechanical science struggles to explain how megalithic structures like the Giza Pyramids were built. Steiner suggested that the ancient Egyptians were the direct cultural heirs to the remnants of Atlantean wisdom. They possessed a practical understanding of forces that counteracted gravity and altered the density of matter. [1]

3. Sound, Crystals, and Etheric Technology

Regarding the methods used to move large stones used in the building of pyramids, we need to look at how Steiner hints at the exact mechanics involved in ancient anti-gravity technology:

• Sound and Formative Power (The Word): In his lectures on the Egyptian and Lemurian epochs, Steiner emphasized that language originally had a magical, objective power. Vowels and consonants were not just abstract symbols; they were direct modulations of the etheric life forces. By chanting specific sacred syllables and vowels, ancient initiates could resonate with the "vibrational" blueprint of matter. • Crystals and the Ankh: In Anthroposophy, crystals are understood as the ultimate physical crystallization of pure cosmic order and universal wisdom. Instruments like the Egyptian Ankh (the key of life) were symbols of the forces governing the etheric body. Initiates used their own highly developed life forces, amplified by cosmic conduits like crystals, to command the elemental spirits (like Gnomes and Salamanders) that hold physical matter together. By manipulating these forces, levitating and transporting stones became a spiritual science rather than a mechanical burden. [1, 2, 3]

In short, Steiner would completely agree with some of today's most improbable theories regarding the building of the pyramids. According to Steiner's clairvoyant perception looking into the past, down into the Akashic Chronicle pipeline, pyramids were not built by thousands of slaves with copper chisels and ropes, but by an ancient humanity utilizing the vibrational power of the Word, altering gravitational states, while mastering etheric energy.
