Modern materialist medicine views motor nerves like telegraph wires sending commands from the brain to a muscle. Steiner completely inverted this:
All nerves are sensory. There is no fundamental difference between a nerve in your eye and a "motor" nerve in your leg.
The so-called motor nerve does not cause the movement. It simply perceives the physical position of the limb in space. It reports back to the astral and etheric bodies, saying, "Here is where the physical matter currently sits."

Because the astral body is trapped in this unhealed, frozen trauma, it mirrors that rigidity downward into the etheric body, creating physical tension, tremors, and a gradual loss of life-force circulation.
If the root of the hardening comes down to a lack of love, then physical interventions can only ever manage the outer symptoms. True healing requires a moral and spiritual solvent.
