Steiner's path to spiritual perception is quite systematic, and it is advised to have an overview of the process in advance. This allows to situate where one is at on the journey, and while it is not necessary to complete one step to practice the following ones, the very first steps require a certain care. 

Rudolf Steiner's fundamental text, **Knowledge of the Higher Worlds and Its Attainment** (GA 10) — also translated as *How to Know Higher Worlds* — offers a structured journey in that sense, where the work is subdivided into main chapters that trace the soul's path from inner preparation to direct encounter with higher spiritual realities.
