This is Seeing Beyond, a brand new site by Philippe Lheureux, dedicated to "seeing beyond" the world as it is. Seeing Beyond means we see the world as it is: Science attempts to achieve an objective view, while each individual has their own lens. What mostly is left out within these perspectives, is the possibility for these two viewpoints – almost opposing ones– to be joined into one. While indeed if the human inner world is conceived as being mainly "subjective" and only true in itself, and not really beyond the self, this very characterization ends up making the inner world into something finally unreal..

All focus is on the "subjective" character of the inner world, while at the same time this inner world served humanity well enough, to make it through throughout very long periods of time. And even not just to "make it through" but above all to build this amazing world we have to day – which perhaps can be criticized and is not all perfect, but which is still quite amazing as an achievement, in the manner in which humanity was able to fashion nature, into all that makes up the world of today. The full measure doesn't always fully dawn, of what is thus achieved, because it is so normal, and obvious, this world we have today before us, that really, there doesn't seem to be much to it. And especially is this achievement fully noticed, because of a kind of subterfuge, where the actual sources which brought about this world, are slightly covered up. In the first place, "the brain" is ascribed all credit to the wonder that is civilization, and then outer circumstances are named, such as economic circumstances, in the form of basic survival, and then adaptation, and the struggle for survival are credited, yet the very thing that should be credited, is in fact omitted out of the picture.

Namely, the human inner world, with all its capacities, of imagination, of thinking, of gathering knowledge and experience, etc, these, as a potent factor, are left out. This means that if this part is left out, in fact discredited, and made into something irrelevant and ultimately unreal, then indeed all reliance falls on to the other part of the equation: Science's objective view.. There we fall into reliance on measuring devices, on experimentation, on combinations, while the actual tool or sphere that does all these operations is left out, as a mere reality.

Therefore what we're proposing here, is to consider this inner world objectively, hereby joining "objectivity" to the "subjective." While if this inner world is considered objectively, it is to say at first through real observation, rather than through analysis or speculation, then a whole other consideration comes about, as to the reality of this inner world, and its function within the world.

In a time where Artificial Intelligence is competing with human intelligence, one of the first things to do, is to deal with the inner world, containing intelligence and so much more, as a reality onto itself, although one with different properties, than those commonly held to be determining what is real, and what is not. While thereby we arrive at an entirely new spot in human inquiry, opening the door to new worlds, and new meanings, while at the same time discovering the true nature of intelligence.. This will lead in new understandings regarding the world, so that a new, more secure, and more real future can come about..

If this line of inquiry has some value to you, please consider subscribing or simply signing up for some updates through our free newsletter. Also, please give us a shoot, letting us know what your fields of interest are, so that we can orient further posts in that direction. In the near future, once everything seems to function well enough, we'll also open the possibility for comments, so that participation, community and exchanges can come about, also with other people with an interest in this platform. In the meantime stay tuned and up to date and receive emails newsletters, when new content is ready as such!
