# Becoming Born Again

The breakdown of moral conventions and the loss of stability in society is not, from my point of view, the loss of Christianity but its rebirth. I see it rather as a chance for true faith to emerge on a larger level. As within, so without. Society mirrors the soul.

Everything outward is a reflection of everything within us. When the soul believes itself successful, it is content. This might not be because it has conquered evil. It could be because it has never truly encountered it. Evil is not something lurking in the shadows of graveyards at night. It has its roots within the human being. If it is true that we are happy and content with our lives without ever confronting the evil that dwells within us, then that satisfaction is a false state of being. Only a false soul is content to allow evil to remain within it.

We must break open, at some point along the suffering road, in order to become what we’re ultimately capable of being. Like a seed buried in the dark, wet earth, the shell needs to rot away in order for new life to take hold. Around the world today, the shell is rotting. Authority figures, thou-shalt-nots, even basic good manners are falling by the wayside as collective humanity searches for something, anything, to point to as the cause of all the problems—anything other than the individual self.

I think it is time to let the idols fall, especially the false idol that is cultural Christianity—the socially accepted, watered-down version of Jesus that allows us to live small, accusatory lives under the spiritual auspices of one whose teachings and life depicted just the opposite.

So let it fall. Let the collective soul reach out from the rubble of a false religious standard. In miniature, we will all experience this. It is the price we must pay to become real, true beings who no longer sit on the sidelines of existence and offer theories about what others should do. Instead, we are being held, and must be held, under the waves of being until we have lost all the theories about it, all excuses and instincts to blame someone else.

A full surrender.

This is where the individual soul becomes literally born again. The idols are falling. The false shell is breaking open. We must be born again.
